EASO Support Plan Italy: the CGRS is participating

The European Asylum Support Office (EASO, in action since 2011) helps EU member states in need of support for the processing of asylum applications and the reception of asylum applicants.

The CGRS has published its figures for the month of March 2015.

EASO Joint processing – visiting the Dutch colleagues

From 22 February to 13 March 2015, two Belgian colleagues went to The Netherlands to reinforce the Dutch IND services.

Their work at the IND was part of an EASO pilot project on the assessment of asylum applications. They interviewed asylum seekers and drafted an informal recommendation of the decisions.

The CGRS no longer delivers Confirmation of Statelessness Certificates

In accordance with the Aliens Act, the CGRA acts also as a civil status authority for stateless persons (in addition to recognized refugees). This means that we deliver birth certificates, identity certificates etc. to stateless persons.

One year InSite

Since January 2014, the CGRS makes use of the documentary intranet InSite, a platform for internal communication and information sharing.

2nd March 2015: EASO Management Board

On Monday 2nd March 2015, Dirk Van den Bulck participated in the 17th Management Board of EASO in Malta.

Until recently, reporting by European member states on their asylum statistics varied considerably.

In 2014, the CGRS counted 211 telecommuters who work one or two days at home every week.

Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a gender-based act of persecution and is taken into account in the examination of asylum applications at the CGRS.
