Continuation of EUAA operational support
Since March 2025, the CGRS has been receiving operational support from the EUAA, the European Union Agency for Asylum.

Rail strike on 9, 10 and 11/03 & national demonstration on 12/03: personal interviews are maintained
Due to a strike, train availability will be limited from Sunday 8th of March from 10 PM, to Wednesday 11th of March. In addition, the joint trade union front is organising a national demonstration in Brussels on Thursday 12 March.
Preparation for the Pact on Migration and Asylum
The Pact on Migration and Asylum was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council in 2024. All Member States are required to apply the new rules from 12 June 2026.

Railway strike from 26 January until 30 January: the personal interviews are maintained
Due to a strike, train availability will be limited from Sunday 25th of January from 10 PM, to Friday 30th of January (last train).
Temporary suspension of the processing of Iranian cases
Given the current situation in Iran and the difficulty in obtaining sufficiently objective and recent information from the country, it is currently impossible for the CGRS to assess the current need for protection.
The CGRS closes its doors between Christmas and New Year
The CGRS will be closed from 25 December 2025 until 1 January 2026.
New list of safe countries of origin
Belgium's new safe country of origin list, published December 15, 2025, may impact procedures at the CGRS and the Council for Alien Law Litigation.
