Belgium has approved a new list of safe countries of origin.

Processing time for Palestinian cases

Following the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since October, the CGRS decided on 20 October to temporarily suspend the negative decisions for applications filed by persons from Palestine.

  • Thursday 9 May (Ascension Day)
  • Friday 10 May (bridge day)
  • Due to an internal event, the CGRS will only be accessible to visitors with an appointment on Friday, 17 May.
  • Monday 20 May (Whit Monday)

The CGRS has published the asylum figures for January 2024.

The CGRS will resume processing Sudanese cases

In April 2023, an internal conflict broke out in Sudan between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) led by the chairman of the Transitional Council, General Al-Burhan, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by general Hemedti. Following the outbreak of this violent internal conflict, the CGRS suspended the processing of all Sudanese cases.
