Current status of the Fast Track Procedure (FTP)

Since 1 February 2024, the FTP has come into force, a procedure that makes it possible to take a final decision more quickly for first applications that have little chance of being granted protection status. The CGRS regularly assesses whether countries should be added or removed. As part of the implementation of the European Pact on Migration and Asylum, which will enter into force in June 2026, countries of origin with a protection rate of 20% or less in the EU will in any case have to be included in an accelerated procedure.

Extension of suspension for Syria

Individual interviews and appointments will not be cancelled.
