Guide for minors and their parent(s) or guardian(s)

The CGRS launches the GUIDE FOR ACCOMPANIED CHILDREN IN THE ASYLUM PROCEDURE IN BELGIUM as well as the GUIDE FOR PARENTS OR GUARDIANS ACCOMPANIED BY MINOR CHILDREN.

The GUIDE FOR ACCOMPANIED CHILDREN IN THE ASYLUM PROCEDURE IN BELGIUM informs children accompanying their parents or guardian of their right to be heard during the asylum procedure of their parents or guardian in Belgium.

The GUIDE "The right to be heard", which is intended for FOR PARENTS OR GUARDIANS ACCOMPANIED BY MINOR CHILDREN, informs parents or guardians who have started an asylum procedure in Belgium of the right to be heard of the children accompanying them.

With these guides, the CGRS aims to meet its legal obligation to provide information.

The Immigration Department (DVZ/OE) distributes the guides to accompanied minors and their parent(s) or guardian(s) who apply for asylum in our country. Families with several children receive a brochure for the parent(s) or guardian and a brochure for the minor children in their preferred language.

The guides are published in Dutch, French, English, Arabic, Pashtu, Albanian and Russian. You can consult them on the CGRS website https://www.cgvs.be/nl/publicaties.

The CGRS thanks the Immigration Office for its support in distributing the brochures. It is in the interest of the child that we inform him/her, as well as his/her parent(s) or guardian, about his/her rights in Belgium.

These guides were developed with the support of AMIF, the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
