On 9 December 2024, the processing of cases of applicants from Syria was temporarily suspended and on 23 April 2025, the CGRS announced an extension of this suspension. This suspension is being extended again until the end of October 2025.
The security situation in Syria remains precarious and volatile, and there is insufficient information available to resume the processing of cases at this time. Only personal interviews and decisions for persons with protection status in another EU Member State will continue. All other decisions remain suspended.
