The CGRS has published the asylum figures for September 2025.
Applications for international protection
- In September, the Immigration Office registered 2,897 applicants for international protection. Each person (including children) is counted separately.
- In September 2025 Afghanistan, Palestine and Eritrea lead the top 10 countries of origin of applicants for international protection. Turkey, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, Burundi, Guinea, Georgia and Syria complete the top 10.
Decisions
- In September 2025, the CGRS took 2,120 decisions, concerning a total of 2,536 persons.
- In September 2025, the protection rate amounted to 23,3%.
Workload
- The total workload of the CGRS corresponds to the number of cases in which the CGRS has not yet taken a decision. At the end of September 2025, the total workload amounted to 24,985 cases (31,612 persons). In view of the current inflow and the actual employee base 6,500 dossiers can be considered as a normal caseload. The actual backlog amounts to 18,485 cases.
