The CGRS has published the asylum figures for August 2025.
Applications for international protection
- In August, the Immigration Office registered 2,895 applicants for international protection. Each person (including children) is counted separately.
- In August 2025 Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Palestine lead the top 10 countries of origin of applicants for international protection. Eritrea, Turkey, Burundi, Syria, Cameroon, Guinea and Georgia complete the top 10.
Decisions
- In August 2025, the CGRS took 1,819 decisions, concerning a total of 2,218 persons.
- In August 2025, the protection rate amounted to 25,1%.
Workload
- The total workload of the CGRS corresponds to the number of cases in which the CGRS has not yet taken a decision. At the end of August 2025, the total workload amounted to 24,600 cases (30,967 persons). In view of the current inflow and the actual employee base 6,500 dossiers can be considered as a normal caseload. The actual backlog amounts to 18,100 cases.
