Deze COI Focus beschrijft de situatie van Tigrayanen in de Ethiopische hoofdstad Addis Abeba. Dit rapport is een update van de COI Focus Ethiopië. De situatie van Tigreërs in Addis Abeba van 23 juni 2023. Het behandelt de periode van mei 2023 tot mei 2024. Cedoca rondde het onderzoek af op 27 juni 2024.

Cedoca voerde een fact-findingmissie (FFM) uit naar Ethiopië van 14 tot 24 november 2023. Deze missie is ondernomen met de financiële steun van het Europese Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).

The purpose of this report on Nigeria is to provide relevant contextual information in view of the assessment of applications for international protection, including refugee status and subsidiary protection. The report provides an overview of the situation in Nigeria in the period 1 January 2023 – 31 March 2024, focusing on security issues and selected profiles relevant for international protection. The report builds upon the preceding EASO COI report Nigeria Security Situation – June 2021.

The drafting of this report was finalised on 3 May 2024. Events taking place after the end of the reference period have not been included.

Afghanistan

In this COI Focus, Cedoca examines the migration movements of Afghans since the Taliban takeover of power in August 2021. For this, Cedoca mainly consulted sources dating from after August 2021. Because of their relevance and for a proper understanding of the context of migration in Afghanistan, some older sources were also consulted and included. Cedoca closed the research for this COI Focus on 15 November 2023.

The purpose of this report is to provide information relevant for international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection.

It provides an update on the security, humanitarian, and socio-economic situation in the country, and reviews the latest developments on the treatment of select profiles by the de facto Taliban government.

The report covers the period of 1 July 2022–30 September 2023. The report is partly to be read as an update of the following COI reports published in August 2022: (1) EUAA COI Report: Afghanistan – Targeting of individuals, (2) EUAA COI Report: Afghanistan – Security Situation, and (3) EUAA COI Report – Key socio-economic indicators in Afghanistan and in Kabul City. Events taking place after the end of the reference period have not been included.

The purpose of this report is to provide security-related information relevant for international protection status determination.

This report is an update of the EASO COI report Afghanistan Security Situation first published in January 2015 and updated annually.

The reference period is 15 August 2021–30 June 2022. The report is to be read in conjunction with two other COI reports published by EUAA in August 2022: Afghanistan – Targeting of Individuals and Afghanistan – Key Socio-economic Indicators in Afghanistan and in Kabul City.

The drafting of this report was finalised on 8 July 2022. Only a few incidents taking place after this date were included in this report, such as the killing of Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in a US-drone attack on 31 July 2022.

The purpose of this report is to provide relevant information for the assessment of international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection. In particular, it is intended to inform the update of the Country Guidance on Afghanistan April 2022.

The reference period is from 1 December 2021 until 30 June 2022. Some additional information was added during the finalisation of this report in response to feedback received during the quality control process, until 4 August 2022. The drafting of this report was finalised on 29 July 2022.

The purpose of this report is to provide information relevant for international protection status determination. The report contains information on targeting of individuals in Afghanistan.

The reference period is 1 December 2021–30 June 2022, and the report is partly to be viewed as a continuation of the EASO COI report: Afghanistan – Country Focus (January 2022).

Sections covering education personnel and forced recruitment were not covered in this preceding report. Therefore, these sections have reference periods starting on the date of the Taliban takeover of power in Afghanistan (15 August 2021). The background chapters also contain information from before the reference period.

The drafting of this report was finalised on 30 June 2022. Events taking place after this date are not included in this report, except for some clarifying information on the outcomes of a grand assembly that took place in Kabul City on 30 June 2022–2 July 2022.

This report was jointly written by the Country of Origin Information (COI) sector of EUAA and notably the Centre for Documentation and Research (Cedoca), the Belgian COI unit of the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Person (CGRS).

Het doel van dit onderzoek is een stand van zaken op te maken over de veiligheidssituatie in Afghanistan in de eerste maanden van 2022. Het onderzoek richt zich in het bijzonder op de periode tussen 1 januari 2022 en 27 april 2022. Het Agentschap voor Asiel van de Europese Unie (European Union Agency of Asylum, EUAA, voorheen EASO) heeft de situatie voor 2022 al beschreven in een rapport van januari 2022. Deze COI Focus kan gelezen worden als een beknopte update en aanvulling op het EUAA-rapport. Soms herneemt de COI Focus informatie over de periode van voor januari 2022 wanneer deze relevant is voor een beter begrip van de situatie in de huidige verslagperiode of voor de weergave van trends over een langere termijn.

Het onderzoek voor deze COI Focus is afgesloten op 27 april 2022.
