Het doel van dit onderzoek is een stand van zaken op te maken over de algemene situatie in Venezuela. Het onderzoek richt zich hierbij op de politieke situatie, de veiligheidssituatie en de socio-economische situatie van het land om een zo breed mogelijke analyse te maken van de huidige stand van zaken. De situatie van specifieke profielen, zoals bijvoorbeeld journalisten of politieke activisten, vormen geen voorwerp van deze analyse. Deze COI Focus richt zich in het bijzonder op de periode van augustus 2023 tot augustus 2024 en is een update van het gelijknamige rapport van 8 augustus 2023. Het onderzoek werd afgesloten op 9 september 2024.

The purpose of this report is to provide relevant information for the assessment of international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection, and in particular for use in updating EUAA’s country guidance development on Syria.

The report covers the period of August 2022 – August 2023, and provides a limited update of selected sections previously addressed in the EUAA COI reports: Syria - Targeting of individuals (September 2022) and Syria - Targeting of individuals (March 2020) as well as an update of the EUAA COI report: Syria - Socio-economic situation in Damascus city (September 2022). This report should be read in conjunction with the EUAA COI report: Syria – Security situation (September 2023).

The drafting of this report was finalised on 31 August 2023. Any event taking place after this date is not included in this report.

The purpose of this security situation report is to provide relevant information for the assessment of international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection, and in particular for use in updating EUAA’s country guidance development on Syria.

The report covers the period of April 2021 – July 2022, and it is an update of the EUAA COI Report: Syria – Security situation (July 2021). A limited update of sections addressing the justice system in government-held areas and areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, previously covered in the EUAA COI Report: Syria –Actors (December 2019), is also included.

The drafting of this report was finalised on 17 August 2022. Any event taking place after this date is not included in this report.

The purpose of this report is to provide relevant information regarding the targeting of individuals in Syria, for international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection, and in particular for use in the update of EUAA’s Country Guidance on Syria.

This report addresses topics related to the targeting of individuals by different armed actors operating in Syria, including the Government of Syria, the Syrian Democratic Forces, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, the Syrian National Army, and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant among others. Targeting of individuals by sectors of society is also addressed where relevant.

This report is an update of the EUAA COI Report: Syria – Targeting of individuals (March 2020). It also provides updated information on profiles and topics covered previously in the following EUAA COI reports: EUAA COI Report – Situation of women (February 2020), EUAA COI Report – Military service (April 2021), and EUAA COI Report – Situation of returnees from abroad (June 2021).

The reference period for the events described in this report is from January 2020 until August 2022. The drafting of this report was finalised on 19 August 2022. Any event taking place after this date is not included in this report.

The purpose of this report is to provide relevant information for the assessment of international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection.

The report covers the period of April 2021 - July 2022, and it is an update of the EUAA COI Report: Syria - Socio-economic situation: Damascus City, published in April 2021. It provides relevant information regarding the socio-economic situation in the city of Damascus, including information about internal mobility and freedom of movement. This will inform the update of the chapter on Internal Protection Alternative within the EUAA Country Guidance on Syria 2022.

The purpose of this security situation report is to provide relevant information for the assessment of international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection, and in particular for use in updating EASO’s country guidance development on Syria.

This report is part of a series of Syria COI reports produced in 2021.

This report analyses the security situation in Syria, focusing in particular on the situation of the civilian population. The reference period is 2020 and the first three months of 2021. The report is an update of the EASO COI Report Syria – Security situation (May 2020).

The purpose of this report is to provide relevant information regarding the situation of returnees hailing from Syria within the framework of international protection status determination, including refugee status and subsidiary protection, and in particular for use in updating EASO’s country guidance development on Syria. The report is primarily focused on the return of Syrians from Europe and Syria’s neighbouring countries (Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan) to government-held Syria. This report is part of a series of Syria COI reports produced in 2021.
