17 May: IDAHOT

Today 17 May is the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia.

Gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender persons are still being persecuted in many countries. For many years now, the CGRA has been taking into account the specificity of asylum seekers who put forward a fear of persecution on account of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

The international day against homophobia and transphobia is also the occasion to insist on some key values in our approach of asylum applications based on this motive: open-mindedness and a constant determination to improve the knowledge of our collaborators on this subject and to examine these applications objectively, beyond any clichés or stereotypes.
